Año 2006 En marzo del 2003 se fundó la Ciudad de La Punta previa entrega de las primeras viviendas el 29 de diciembre del 2002, la primera ciudad que se funda en el siglo XXI, con una superficie de 6.000 has. Lugar donde confluyen la cultura, el arte, la modernidad, la recreación, la tecnología, del paisaje y la naturaleza.
La ciudad posee el centro tecnológico más moderno de Sudamérica, Data Center, el punto de partida del proyecto Autopista de la Información. En esta ciudad se encuentra la Universidad Provincial de La Punta, Campus y ciudad universitaria en construcción.
El clima es en invierno con temperaturas agradables sin la agresión del viento Chorrillero y en verano con brisas frescas de las quebradas del Suyuque. Se observa al este las Sierras de San Luis, y al oeste el horizonte amplísimo. Después de la lluvia, se despeja y se alcanza a ver la Cordillera de Los Andes
Se estimó un crecimiento demográfico de 35.000 habitantes permanentes, con 125 casas por módulo o licitación.
PLAZA FUNDACIONAL
Nació a partir de pensar un espacio destinado para el acto fundacional de la Nueva Ciudad del Siglo XXI.
Ubicada por la Avenida Serrana, al norte de la Ciudad de La Punta.
Ubicada en la intersección del Boulevard Carolina Tobar García y la Avenida Serrana. Punto de expansión del Centro Comercial de la Ciudad. Espacio de juegos abstractos para los niños y la familia.

Amplio espacio, para que los niños desarrollen posibilidades de juegos y aprendizaje.

Plaza Principal Galaxia Chicos. Con un circuito de bicicletas.
Primera Infancia, Planeta Encantado: Colores formas, aromas, sonidos, locomoción.
Juegos de Desarrollo Físico y Actividades Programadas Planeta Juegos: Lugar para relacionarse y socializar con otros niños. Lugar para desarrollar la destreza física: trepar, juegos en equipos, futbol, basquet,. Lugares de dominio del equilibrio: espacio para patines, rollers, patinetas, bicibletas.
Juego de Fantasía e Imaginación Planeta Aventura: Lugares para la exploración y desarrollo de la independencia física y mental. Juego de reglas, competencia, aventuras en un mundo imaginario de asunción de roles, de personajes míticos o héroes.
Juegos Educativos, y de Aprendizaje: Planeta Ciencia: Reconocimiento del mundo social, natural y científico a través del juego. Fogón y Camping
Ubicado sobre el Boulevard Carolina Torbar García y la Calle Nº 24 Este.
Destinado a intervenir y difundir todo tipo de expresiones culturales. Respetando el bosque nativo, los artistas de la provincia, plasmaron sus creaciones en murales. Los murales poseen iluminación nocturna.
Ubicado al extremo de la Avenida Serrana. Cercano al Predio de la Universidad Provincial de La Punta.
Ubicado al este del predio de juegos denominado “El Planeta de los Niños” y construido sobre un terreno de tres hectáreas. Consta de dos piletas, una para adultos, de 600 metros cuadrados y una profundidad de 1,50 metro; y una para niños, de 500 metros cuadrados y no menos de un metro de profundidad.
Se construyó un espacio de recreación con un espacio cultural, una fuente, un campo de fútbol 5, dos campos de beach vóley, dos canchas de bochas y un escenario para el despliegue de espectáculos al aire libre.
Asimismo se construyeron 15 asadores dobles, quinchos individuales y grupales; y baños totalmente equipados para hombres y mujeres y un comedor con parrilla.
Posee instalaciones sanitarias, para hombres y para mujeres, una confitería y servicio de enfermería permanente.
El Corredor Bioceánico (Atlántico – Pacífico) a través del camino hacia Pescadores, uniendo la ciudad de la Punta, con la Autopista Inteligente Nº 7, en una extensión de 13,3 km.
La Ciudad de San Luis: a través de la Ruta Provincial Nº 3, Puente Favaloro, y Ruta Nacional Nº 146.
Al Norte de la Provincia de San Luis: a través de Ruta Provincial Nº 3 y la Ruta Nacional Nº 146, pasando por Suyuque, Villa de la Quebrada, Leandro N. Alem, Nogolí, San Francisco, Luján, Quines y Candelaria.
Al Circuito Chico: Turístico, por el camino del Portezuelo, comunicando con Las Chacras, Juana Koslay, San Roque, Cruz de Piedra, Potrero de los Funes, ElVolcán, Trapiche y La Florida.
Directamente, la Ciudad está comunicada con Potrero de los Funes a través de la proyectada ruta La Punta – Potrero, pasando por las cercanías de León Colgado.
Por Ruta Provincial Nº 3, puente Favaloro, Ruta Nº 3(hoy autovía 25 de mayo), Boulevard Dra. Carolina Tobar García.
